Embogo lodges derives its name from the word “Embogo” meaning buffalo in the local Rukiga Dialect. The area where our lodge is located is a popular hangout for Buffalos and Elephants among other animals. The marshy grounds around the lodge offer an escape for buffalos to cover themselves in the mud giving them much needed relief from ticks and parasites. The lodge, a first of many to come is a one – woman’s dream. She felt the need to invest back home and help better the lives of people in her community. Once you stay at Embogo lodges you are directly helping in feeding a family or keeping a child in school. Part of our profits go towards supporting Kameme Devine Primary School.
